Here, he started as an associate consultant and rose to become the firm’s president and CEO.

Later, he was hired as president of eBay Marketplaces in 2005. At eBay, his role was to focus on eBay’s core business. It usually involved work related to accounting for a large percentage of the company’s revenues. And then in 2008, he was appointed as the CEO of eBay.

John made more than 40 acquisitions including Shopping.com and StubHub. After his exit from eBay, Donahoe was replaced by Devin Wenig who was eBay Marketplaces president. John became the president and CEO of ServiceNow in 2017. From 2003 to 2012, John was on the Board of Trustees of Dartmouth College.
